About Me

My path into writing has been a long journey—it was built through years of experience, hard work, and a genuine curiosity about people. I left school at 17 and began working as a painter and decorator, but it didn’t take long to realise that painting houses was not really the job for me. Soon after, I sat a test with the State Bank of Victoria, which led to a role as a bank clerk and later a teller—my first step into the business world.

At 22, I married Deborah, and together we raised five children. Today, our family has grown to include ten grandchildren.

Over the years, I worked across a range of roles, primarily in accounting and information technology. Eventually, I founded my own business, which later merged with Summer Technology in 2011. Together with my business partner, we have grown the company into a team of 19 people, and I remain actively involved in its management today.

Alongside my professional journey, I pursued further education, completing a Graduate Certificate in Management at the Australian Institute of Business, followed by a Master of Business Administration at Southern Cross University, specialising in leadership and people management.

While business has been a significant part of my life, writing has always been my true passion. While I have never formally studied the craft of writing, I have invested a great deal of time over the years in learning and understanding the mechanics of writing both novels and non-fiction. Today, I dedicate more of my time to writing—exploring ideas, telling stories, and creating work that reflects both imagination and a lifelong interest in what makes people tick.

It has long been understood that making a living from writing books is not easy, and that is reflected in my journey. Due to family responsibilities, I focused on earning a living as a businessperson first, while writing and learning the craft were after-hours activities. Now, I get to invest much more time following my passion.
